Working

Working

Whilst we enjoy showing our dogs - both for the social element and the opportunity to represent a rare breed whilst gaining an independent evaluation of their conformation and type - it is a fact that there should only ever be one reason to own a CED, and that is to enjoy it's working heritage and drive.

Living in the UK of course, it is not as simple as hooking up to a sled and running through miles of snow, so we regularly train in 'dryland mushing' where our dogs use a wheeled cart (or rig, as it is often called) to enable the dogs to pull us on the typical much more muddy than snowy UK landscape.
Sometimes we convert this training to run at rallies, short distance races, where we have enjoyed some success and made lots of memories running not just our own dogs but those of friends.
